Alcohol Drug Tests

Alcohol drug tests have been on the market since before 1990. These tests come in two basic forms, an oral or saliva alcohol test and a breath alcohol test.

The breath alcohol test checks human breath for traces of alcohol. The oral alcohol test examines human saliva for traces of alcohol. Drug and alcohol drug testing is often required for D.O.T. jobs, both prior to employment (pre-employment) and during employment (random or cause based). The amount of alcohol that is detectable will depend on how much beer or liquor the person being testing has consumed, as well as their weight, how long ago they drank, and their metabolism.

EtG/EtS is a laboratory based urine test that will detect the presence of alcohol up to 80 hours after consumption. This is sometimes referred to as “The 80 Hour Alcohol Test” and tests for Ethyl Glucuronide and Ethyl Sulfate. For more information, click: Ethyl Glucuronide Test.
